Professional Bio

Clarke Anderson has nineteen years’ experience in trading, energy, and private equity.

As co-founder of GHI Energy, he developed an innovative renewable fuel marketing platform that catapulted the company into the position of the largest third-party provider of CNG in the state of California.

As an industry leader, GHI Energy was recently acquired by UGI Energy Services, who will use their energy commodity marketing expertise and strong customer base to expand GHI into other parts of the country.

Post-transaction, he continues to manage GHI Energy while assisting new owners desire to aggressively grow the platform.

He is founder of Anderson LCFS, LLC the lead investor in GHI Energy – it has realized 125X returns to date; and previously co-founded Grounds Anderson, LLC, a civil engineering consulting firm and Alta Capital Fund, a natural gas and electricity trading venture, Clarke also oversees various public and private investments of his parents’ Houston family-office as Manager of Freedom Hill Enterprises, LLC; Vice President of Anderson Family Partnership;. and as a Director of The D. Kent and Linda C. Anderson Foundation. A graduate of Rice University in 2001 with a B.A. in Political Science and Policy Studies, Clarke continues to be actively involved with Rice.

He has served on the board for Friends of Fondren and the Rice University Owl Club; on the Association of Rice Alumni Nominations Committee; and as co-chair of his Reunion years. Within the civic community, Clarke volunteered from 2011-2017 with The Children’s Fund, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping early stage charities fulfill their mission to provide critical services to disadvantaged children across the greater Houston area, Chairing Donations, Corporate Development, and Charity Selection Committees.

In 2015, while serving as President, he helped to raise over $745,000 in distributable funds.

Clarke is also an active volunteer at St. Francis Episcopal School, serving as a Board member since 2016 while serving on the Executive Committee for the majority of that time.

Clarke is the co-founder of the Sporting Clays event benefiting the Patrick Nicosia CARE Fund and has actively served on the Steering Committees for the school’s multiple Capital Campaigns to purchase property for new campus, construct new Primary School and begin an Upper School.

Clarke resides in Houston with his wife, Elle, and their two daughters.
